By Yamaguchi Susumu
Translated by Imai Akinori
"Pure Land is consistent with mainline Indian Mahayana. This idea was first inspired in me by the writings of Professor Yamaguchi Susumu. Especially, the notion that 'emptiness is form and form is emptiness.' That notion, I think, Professor Yamaguchi was correct in suggesting that notion was relevant to understanding Pure Land Buddhism."
(From a lecture given under the title of "Buddhism as a Religion of Hope" at Shin Buddhist Comprehensive Research Institute, Kyoto, Japan on April 4, 1983.)

Excited to continue exploring this book and expanding my own education in Buddhism. I was recommended to read the Translator's Note prior to the first chapter and it has helped tremendously to provide context and deepen my understanding of the text. This book is great for those that want to take their education to the next level and to renew your understanding of Buddhist terms to keep Shin Buddhism an essential part of every day life.
